Beetle certificates are required by law to be submitted to the attorneys and filed by the banks before a house is registered on the buyer's name.
This protects not only the buyer and the seller against future damage claims, but also the property insurer.
However, there are a lot of ill-informed estate agents and attorneys that have been accepting "non-certifiable" beetle certificates which have later proven false when a claim is made.
